My exercise regime just isn't fast enough... k i've slimmed down (a bit) but i'm still looking like a sumo wrestler...
Sigh, new plan.
1 hour cardio every day,
80 push ups
80 sit ups

This is er... quite crazy so i'm aiming for 7 days instead of 10. tmrw starts!!!!

Last night i was feeling so bashed up about embarrassing myself in front of the whole singapore, but i'm feeling so much better.

Thanks Baby, rien, weijie and yanting and everyone else for their support, honest feedback and tips how i can make it better.

It was a bad song choice plus i was nervous, so choosing songs carefully and practicing till i feel comfortable and not nervous will fix this issue.

I have also given some thought into "what constitutes a powerful voice" and "what constitutes a good song choice", and i am clearer now.

Thanks all, for putting me back on track =)

I had the "even if one of the judges runs around naked in the room, i couldn't give a shit" face. it was so blank. But prob is my normal face is just like that man.
Solution: 1)don't wear a cap anymore, 2)stare at the mirror more (thanks larry)

So we ordered it from the menu... and guess what. there were only 5 slices of salmon. Yes, 5 slices for $5.53! what a ripoff... no wonder they took it off the conveyor belt, or nobody would want to take it!

I'm supposed to studying in school but ah well, since in not in the mood yet i decided to put up some really overdue posts.

Aston Steakhouse @ Cathay

I went here with baby quite some time ago but i never got down to blogging. so this is the SECOND time we went to steakhouse. =)

My pretty baby (every post also pretty)

she helped me take one and she said my eyes too small..

So i tried to make it bigger.

She also tried too wahaha. What disgusting cam-whores we both are...

My meal. prime sirloin with garden veggies and onion rings, with mushroom sauce. pretty impressive!was it 11 or 12 bucks? but either way the price is really worth it. if i had zoomed in, you'll see the criss cross burnt marks on the steak, just like the burger king commercials. yum yum yum.

Her meal, Black pepper steak with garden veggies and potato salad. very nice too. and look at the scary amount of black pepper that they generously provided us with.

But of course it wasn't spicy enough for her. even more tabasco sauce!??! I swear baby's taste buds are all dead le. And notice the guy in the background smiling smugly, probably thinking to himself "what's a dude with a mohawk taking cute photos for."

Gosh, never had so much fun ( and been so exhausted) in my life.

So jealous lah. he seemed to recognise all the girls in orchard road.... wahaha.

Quite a nice setup we had, but felt a bit bad that i couldn't contribute much to the team. my kick drums couldn't be picked up and my voice couldn't be heard.. was just standing at the side playing with shakers and harmonising once in a while. Calefare.

after our windows media playlist repeated for at least 7 times over, Jasbeer, the operations manager of the Nude restaurant, invited us to perform on stage! we were so honoured.. our first official stage performance as a group. sang about 5 songs. it was fun but i felt there was still room for improvement ah well.

At the end of the day, the most important event.... counting our moolah!!

Baby's K*** Exam (company name has been removed)

I met baby at chinatown mrt to support her for the K*** aptitude test. She was quite nervous.. even brought a whole stack of IQ test to try at macs.

Finally kissed her goodbye, farted all our bad luck behind (literally.... you can ask her) and she took the test.

Today she got an email saying she passed that round. not an easy round from what i've heard. congrats baby!!!

Dinner at Ichiban Boshi!

Last day of the month, so me and baby decided to go somewhere nice.
Sherry insisted that I eat properly before my show (so sweet hor) so we went to eat at Ichiban Boshi at Esplanade.

At first i was kinda worried that it may blow our budget, but apparently it was quite affordable. It isn't as cheap as Ben ten cafe, but it isn't so ex that it will cost you more than 20 a meal.
Itadakimasu! we both ordered our meal from the "executive meal" section.

My baby was just as starving as i was (we ate some snacks for lunch) so we tucked in!

My meal, Don don set or sth. (wtf is don don??) anw i had TWO freaking rice bowls. Unagi egg and rice, salmon sashimi and rice. Then there was chawanmushi, tempura, miso soup, and fruits. My god they probably use this meal to feed sumo wrestlers. 17.90.
Sherry's meal: sukiyaki(its like japanese steamboat, only difference is the soup really kicks ass), Sliced beef, cabbage, golden mushrooms, japanese rice, udon, raw egg, salmon shashimi, fruits, miso. 16.90.

Moral of the story: don't buy the exectutive meal unless you have just been rescued from a desert island or unless you've just finished your 24 km route march.

We decided to take some monochrome pictures. Me posing with my chocoloate float (damn good stuff until baby pointed out it tasted exactly like marigold chocolate milk. I thought it was daisy actually) tried to make it look cool but i ended up looking like i was saying grace. bah!

I tried to take a cool shot of baby but it was too bright. My camera skills suck.

Anyway i tried another cool pose. notice AGAIN how the guy in the background still looks cooler than me. Its freaky how his pose NEVER changes in all 3 pictures that he appears lol. Maybe he digests his food using eye power... don't need to chew one...

finally the cam whore broke his reverie and couldn't resist smiling for the camera.

Overall it was a nice place to go and eat. I have to admit it isn't exactly student price, but its still somewhat affordable and they really give you EVERYTHING that is worth the money that you spend. It is their policy to make sure you leave feeling like a kung ba pao. altogether it costs us about 46.70 to eat there. ok a bit pricey but if we ever go there again, i intend to buy something cheaper and not the executive meal again.

but i guess its who you're eating with that counts. =)

pity she can't say the same thing about her semi-evolved boyfriend......

Weird cab trip

haha another pictureless post, please bear with me.

I took a cab last night from NTU, and the cab driver was desperately trying to talk to me to me to stay awake.

He then explained that his radio had broken down and the cab driving was getting really boring.

from his tone of voice it sounded like he was dozing off (he was driving faster and faster as if desperate to faster get me to my destination).

Friends who know me know that i hardly talk much, but i still tried to talk to the guy.

"Eh boy... you know... i've been driving from at least 30 years now.. i don't just drive cars you know..... i can drive any single kind of vehicle now...."

i wanted to ask him, ever tried flying a plane and earning a bit more money? but i kept quiet.

Then he said" you know ah... youths nowadays... always speeding... always breaking the traffic rules... no one follows the 'two second rule' anymore.. that's why always have accidents... you all must drive slowly and carefully........."

-Just as he said that, i watched him pass by a 80 speed camera with a speed of 95. hmm...-

I tried to talk to the poor guy who was struggling to keep awake. he was bragging about how his son just got married few weeks ago.

" How old is your son?" i asked.
"ya lor... and then you know... i spent 700 on the brides maker...."

the bugger wasn't even listening to me! just talking on auto pilot all the way. I tried talking/ yelling/ shouting my replies but it all had the same effect.

then more and more lectures about choosing the right and auspicious day for my future wedding, about when it is ok to have a divorce (wtf!?!?!) and about how his son's wife takes 1 hour to bathe in the shower before i finally reached home....

but haha, it can't beat the taxi driver that i heard last time that claimed he had all the different licenses from A to Z... maybe Z allows you to fly the iron man suit or sth....

Me and Baby went to Benten some days back after watching Bolt.

-side note- if you haven't watched it yet, please do! the show is ending. it is incredibly cute (especially the hamster who EATS DANGER FOR BREAKFAST) and the sweet dog Bolt who will do anything for the master.

anyway yup, Benten is on the top floor of JP (same floor as the cinema. do check it out.)

what a name. doesn't it remind you of the cartoon series, BenTen?this cafe has no affilitation to the animation, tho.

This cafe is based on the concept of mixing japanese and western food together. something like waraku.
its strange how we both start to look different after not taking photos for so long. don't you think so, baby?

Anyway baby ordered:
Bacon and egg pasta with miso broth ( i think)
The soup gets 5/5 stars. Very very good stuff.if you ever come here and can't finish the noodles, do gulp down the soup at least.

the meat was nice in my opinion but baby found it a bit too raw. Not say raw but more like the bacon wasn't crispy/crunchy, just like western style. just a very soft texture that appeared slightly undercooked. love it or hate it, it really depends.

What i ordered... Char siew pork pasta with half boiled egg.
Personally i'm not a huge fan of char siew, but i was inspired after watching Naruto.

Fans of the series will know of Naruto's favorite ramen, Ichiraku ramen. Naruto eats the ramen whenever he can everytime after training hard. And guess his favorite flavour?

He ate it so many damn times in the episode, and looked so happy eating it, that i told myself...

I HAVE TO TRY IT!!

so i ordered it.. and here it is.

I could almost hear the crows fly over with the "gua gua gua" sound playing in the background. it just looked so trashy somehow.

the soup was good, 5/5 stars again... however the meat just wasn't up to standard. it seemed chewy and overcooked, instead of being roasted to perfection.

another thing to note is that the char siew isn't reali singapore's kinda char siew.. seems like they took the "shao rou" meat to make to char siew. get what i mean? =X

nvm, anyway the beansprouts went wonderfully with the soup and the noodles, and the jap fish cakes were delicious.

overall i recommend benten cafe for its great soup. the meat could be done better, but the soup and the pasta makes up for it. the experience is definitly worth a try. (yes i can't spell definitly)

My thoughts on beatboxing

Ok, i hope i don't get flamed by all the roxorloop fans here lol.

What is all the hype on roxorloops? i just can't quite understand.

This spectacled guy that used to look suspiciously like the beatles is taking the beatbox world by storm.

My personal take on him: He is extremely shy, and his technical shit is dope.. but he is slightly overrated.

Somehow, i find that he lacks that certain aura on stage. He doesn't seem scared on stage- just comfortable. But maybe a bit too comfortable. plus maybe he should do more covers.

Here's a battle between roxorloops and Mr austrailian idol, Joel Turner.

Quite a tasteless attack eh?pretty insulting too.
but anyway back to the topic..

Roxor is good, but somehow he's lacking a certain aura on stage. Compare him to Eklips(looks like vin diesel, don't he?), the french beatboxer, for example:

this guy had a mad routine.. full of covers too. His bald head also gives him a very strong persona. He has that... X factor.

What is that X factor that all performers seek?
It is the balance between portraying your stage persona and being comfortable.
It is the balance between doing what you want and doing what the audience wants.
It is the balance between doing something techically mindblowing, and doing what the audience understands and can relate to.

The key... is balance.

I was looking back at all my old videos this morning and realised how shitty they were. Here's a sample!

I decided that this new year, i can't keep living on sympathy comments anymore. I wana be a truly all rounded beatboxer with both the skills, persona, and the ability to connect to the audience.

Why hello everybody! today is the day where the charming and dashing Charles bond is bond!

I'm so jealous of my brother, he managed to call in TWICE into 98.7fm for the Beats Breaks and Scratches contest, and managed to earn 50 each time. aahh!!

*** to those of you who dunno, beats breaks and scratches is a 98.7fm game. They will ask you to call in and do a beat while saying the words "Nex Care Acne Patch" and "98.7fm". those who have the nicest and most creative beats can win up to 50 dollars; the lousy ones can get 10 bucks or nothing.***

I was driving back from oosh when i heard my brother's voice on the radio. He then did this reali impressive sexy back beat while squashing the words "nex care acne patch" and " 98.7fm" in it. After that, Soo (the DJ) had a little chat with him.

Soo:Wow!!!! that was reali good! you do this professionally?
Mark: Well, you could say so, been doing this here and there for cash.
Soo: So, who did you learn it from?
Mark: Oh, i learnt it from my brother. Actually he is one of the finalist for the kanye west beatbox competition, beatboxer stitch.

WTF!!!! so now i'm known nationwide as the skinny chinese beatboxer. how sad is that.

What was even sadder is that when i went home. mark told me that he was very tempted to say "no lah he's quite fat" but he decided to be nice to me. T_T

Seen so much hype on this on channel 5 that i decided to check it out myself.

To be honest it isn't terrifically funny but its amusing to hear how the jap host tries to speak english "Crazy is GOLDEN!!!!!!(wtf?)" well anyway just watch it if you are interested but i have to say it gets boring after awhile.

How sad. When everyone was munching popcorn by their tv sets and watching the legendary, first ever in asia F1 race, our family was having a stroll at the Robinson's expo sale. What were we thinking!!?!

They decorated the signage with black and white checkers (to suit the F1 theme)but that didn't help at all.

Well anyway, my bro was looking for some discounted cologne when we stumbled across this brand name.

Some people say that the brand name isn't important, but its the quality that matters. I beg to differ because....

" Hello, can i help you? oh this comes in 3 different scents. There is the classic "garbage dump" fragrance, the more adventurous "Sewage waste" fragrance.

For our 3years 10 months anni, we decided to try something different.. going to underwater world, sentosa! and being the cam whores that we are, we took tonnes of photos.

This is called a sponge crab. it carries a sponge with his two pairs of rear feet near his rear. Sometimes when that time of the month comes and you run out of pads... you just have to improvise.

This fish is huge. Its bigger than the bolster on my bed.

Finally, at the end of the tunnel, the dugong! Its sad how its supposed to be the highlight but his tank was by far the dirtiest. Its like how sentosa talks so much about the conserving the pink dolphins there but the dolphins there are in pretty bad condition. oh well.

Finally, at the end! Quite fun but we didn't manage to go to the dolphin lagoon. Happy 3years 10 months!

I'm sure you guys have heard of iron chef before. To those who don't know, its some cooking competition held in japan.

Well, if there was such thing as an "aluminium foil" chef, or a "weak alloy" chef i probably could win it hands down.

This was supposed to be a soft-boiled egg.

I thought i was gross so i tried to salvage it by adding a bit of dark sauce.

Ok. When my dog was around his food looked slightly better than this.

My god what's wrong with my cooking?!? last night i made my sister some milo, added sugar and sweetened milk... when i tasted it before giving her the drink, i realised that i added salt instead of sugar... Chocolate seawater!! Like a true singaporean i spat everything out like a merlion...

Why.... why is my cooking so bad....

Love actually

today made me rethink what love reali is.
Romance is when a couple sits close together and feels peaceful, or has an overwhelming strong feeling for each other. that doesn't last i guess.

but true love, (putting all the sacrifice, compatibility etc aside) is simply spending lots of fun and memorable times together. Screw maturity, we are all young only once. maturity will come when it comes, and when it does, we have to look at each other with a cheeky grin and know that we have played enough before "maturity" has set in.

Yes there are some things we must be mature about. but the harmless things doesn't matter.

we have to try as many nice places as we can. we will flood our cameras with as many ridiculous photos as we can so one day we can look back and laugh at ourselves when we were still younger.

Love isn't romance. love is having happy times with that special girl and knowing that many years down the road, you will still have happy times.

and love is knowing that even if the other half has no money, even if it is hard to buy stuff easily and go nice places to eat, they will still have the same quality time even if they are eating in a coffee shop. if times are less happy if we find ourselves eating at less nice places, then something is gravely wrong.

I guess i have had the wrong idea of love. I can't get "romance" all the time, but now all i want is for us to spend many many happy times together. romance or no romance, money or no money, we have to be able to laugh at each other's jokes, enjoy each other's company, be comfortable with each other.

Am i deluding myself? i don't quite know. but all i know is i've finally found the strength to work towards ad infinitum again.

First of all i gotta learn how to have fun. how to be a fun person to be around. sounds easy? its as hard as hell for me. i'm as square as a brick.

Baby i want to make this work. k?

Me and my school pals went to eat the legendary $3.50 western food with 5 strands of fries.

then we went far east plaza and shop like mad. the girls went crazy and shopped like it was the great singapore sale and great indonesian sale all combined in one.

then we went lucky plaza to eat ayam penyet.

AND I FORGOT TO BRING MY CAMERA, AGAIN. T_T

As of today, 25th May 2008, we are officially 3.5 years old together! Gosh i feel so old already.

Sherry reccomended this place called the Manhattan Fish Market which was at Clarke Quay, Central. Its on the second floor when you first come out of clarke quay MRT.

We ordered a Flaming Platter for 2 and 2 set meals. i tried to be geh kiang and wanted to order a mudpie for dessert to go along with it. Sherry's advice: "don't!!" and she was right. because when the flaming platter came...

It was so freaking huge! at first i thought it shouldn't be too hard to finish. but we both couldn't finish alot of stuff. At the end i felt very bloated, full, and satisfied. I could have curled up into a ball and rolled home if i wanted to.

There was a huge fillet of fish, fries, mussels( i think), buttered rice (i think too) and they're legendary fire prawns or whatever you called it.

If you have been to chicago steakhouse and ordered the flaming fireball steak, the waiter will pour fire and some flammable liquid over your steak and you can watch as the fire goes out in 3-4 seconds flat. not very impressive.

But when they are doing they're fire prawns in manhatten, the petite little waitress will come with a blowtorch and you can watch as the prawns slowly catches fire, gets nicely heated up and the cream on it melts beautifully. very nice!

As you can see baby is looking gorgeous today while i just looked... funny.

btw do try the balcony outside, cos according to Sherry, it is beautiful at night. would like to go with her sometime soon, but it was too hot as we went in the afternoon.

And dear got me 2 very nice belts. Thanks so much baby. =)

I like the top one in particular as the design is very sleek and nice. i think it'll go reali well with that dark blue striped shirt of mine. the bottom one also has a very nice mature look to it.

i tried sth new, its called a beef foccacia. its a giant sandwich with beef inside, and two slices of bread about an inch thick. the bread is a very healthy, wholesome taste (lol i sound like an advertisment and went reali reali well with the beef. only thing is that the fries were a bit too much. 8/10 stars!

Baby tried something new too! tenderloin steak and lobster. the lobster is so small and salty you might as well go and eat prawns. but the tenderloin quite tender lei. not bad. 7/10 stars!

I know this has been a long awaited post cos everybody wants to know how the bird costume turned out like. sorry!
I was doing a show at the chinese cultural festival, at the botanic gardens and gosh it was raining cats and dogs. howver we were very touched that when the show started, supporting family members were actually holding they're umbrellas in the rain and patiently watching us do our stuff. sweet!

Radioactive Sandwiches

I finally came to the conclusion that if i keep eating poorly and slping late, I was going to be a walking skeleton. been falling sick so recently.,. its clear my body can't take it.

SO! i decided to try to make some healthy sandwiches so i can bring them to work to eat!

Step 1: get all your ingrediants!
Brocolli(i ran out of lettuce) garlic (i ran out of onions) and ... yes, it is what you think it is. its Bah Ting.(i ran out of canned tuna).

Step2:) prepare them to cook

Step 3: mix them all together in a small pot with margarine, and stir constantly.

Step 4: If your hands are itchy, add more ingrediants then neccessary.

Step 5: If you had done step 4.brace yourself to eat something of the likes of catfood.

Step 6: Be prepared to take mc for tmrw.

Yday i was doing a show atbukit merah. supposed to put up a 10 min beatbox show but i totally stunned when i saw the whole crowd was all old folks.

wad the shit was the organiser thinking!? beatboxing to OLD FOLKS??? thankfully, despite my cheat money routine of old chinese covers, it went well all the way until the last part.

the host asked me whether people can learn about my beatboxing anywhere.

I thought for awhile and replied in very broken chinese ."

Then when i looked down, i saw all the old folks looking damn lost. Some of their eyes were saying "internet?? is that a type of food or something?"

A few days ago me and baby went to Chicago steakhouse (yes AGAIN, don't we ever get tired of that place??)

anyway here's what we ate..sherry ate the usual, sirloin blackpepper steak with ALOT of tobasco sauce. my god, she should join the circus as a fire breather.
Then i decided to try something new... grilled white fish! its only 10.90 but trust me its damn good. one of those items on the menu that don't have a "chef's reccomendation" or what but still very impressive. I daresay its nicer than fish and co's fish and chips, just that portion smaller.

this stuff melts in your mouth, try it!

after that i was still hungry so sherry reccomended me to go the coffee club for dessert. i'm usually a miser but i wasn't feeling very well so honestly i couldn't be bothered. food comes first!

sherry ordered a chocolate delice! We had some difficulty finding it so incase you have any trouble its on the last page of the menu, costs about $7..

at first i was complaining that the choc is so small, but when i tried it it was SO THICK AND CREAMY and SWEET.. if you are a health freak you should not step within 100m of this place. i was in chocolate heaven..

the chocolate is so thick and nice thaThen this is what i ordered... chocolate mudpie! its this huge monstrous slice of chocolate and coffee cake, dripping with chocolate sauce and cocoa powder. costs 8 plus.
Me:"Now, who's your super sweet, chocolate coated, sugar daddy now???"

Quite an interesting place. This place is near to khatib mrt.. know that big fishing pond/ lake like thingy that you can see when you're riding the train or bus to khatib? yup, this is it. Went with my folks few days ago.

First up, here is the "long kang" pool, for 10 bucks, kids are given one net, one fish tank and they can catch as many fish as they want to bring home. quite a cute concept.
but i feel sorry for the fishes lah. with all the kids stomping all over the water and chasing after them in nets, it must be damn tiring and traumatising. Suddenly my MDC job doesn't seem so tiring anymore.

Here is the prawn pond:

14.50 per hour, and every subsequent hour they'll give you half an hour free. damn exp but there's alot of prawns in there trust me.

Those of you guys wondering why so many people fishing at the same time, its cos some army unit thought it would be cute to send 50 of their men to a tiny prawn pool and watch them fight for space, lol! seriously man, that tiny prawn pool ain't the place for such a big group of people.

But after they left:

.. its alot emptier. and there was still so many prawns left that the guy in red was catching abt 3 prawns every 5 min. Not just his skill but you could tell there was reali alot of prawns in there. i guess that justifies the price ba.

All these swans are meant for 2 people to pedal around the river, 10 bucks for 15 min(i think). there's not steering wheel or what so i'm guessing to move and turn you'll have to cooperate with your partner to pedal one side and stop, etc. ain't that sweet.

after that went to play paintball in that place. reali wanted to put up pics but no one to take care of my cam so i left it in the car.

After 4 nights of eating whatever slops i cooked, the day of truth finally came!

Me and my pretty baby in the kitchen, all ready to cook up a storm.

no lah kidding kidding.. baby has super onion chopping, egg scooping, onion frying, salad decorating, salmon slicing skills! as you shall see soon enough =)

Dinner is served! Lets see closely what we made =)
The main dish. two cuts of sirloin steak (steak seasoning and black pepper/ garlic salt marinate). Not forgetting salmon, neatly sliced by baby and the salad also decorated by her =)

If you can see the top right corner, its homemade bbq sauce! Sherry was chopping the onions like yan can cook. nice work!

Our very own farmhouse omelette, made of potatoes, onions, ham and abalone mushrooms. ABALONE ah dunch pray pray! ITs a miracle how we managed to scoop it out but baby somehow managed to slide the entire thing out of the pan until it looked like a nice round pizza.

the last time i tried to scoop it, it straightaway turned into something which looked like canned cat food.
and wine! kindly sponsored by sherry.

I haven't been blogging recently (with the excuse that i'm waiting to buy a camera lolx) but i tink this is reason enough to blog something.

Its finally our 3rd year tgt!

Before i slp, i just want to take this time to tk baby for sticking with me and putting up with all my crap haha. you've got one badass boyfriend... (he's just bad, and he's an ass)

darling i love you and i'm so so grateful that we've managed to hit 3 years. we gave each other the strength to carry on even tho we had our rough patches.

I will continue to keep trying to be better heh.

omg i just HAVE to watch saw 4. the traps are ever so clever. just see for yourself in this trailer.

apparently they've went all the way back to the first concept of saw 1 where you put 2 people in a room and only one can come out alive.

unfortunately some asshole on youtube went to spoil the plot so i sort of noe who's the new jigsaw. bah!

::Drink of the week: Southern Comfort::

Here's what a bottle of southern comfort looks like.

First time i heard of it, i thought it was a slang for negro prostitute or something.

This is quite a laid back drink made of whiskey, peach brandy, orange, vanilla, sugar, and cinnamon flavors. whoa thats quite alot!

I wanted to try the drinks in alphabetical order but andrew reccomended this, so i just try lor.

very nice, refershing mild taste, and goes especially well with sprite. it is a light, slightly tonic taste, with a hint of peach. the alcoholic taste is pretty mild but somehow you know its still there.

I recommend this if you're bringing a girl the first time to a pub and she doesn't want something too strong, but pleasant and fruity.

::Drink of the week:: Tia Maria

What i tried this week at acid bar is called Tia Maria.

Something the bartender recommended, its this awesome drink that doesn't taste like your regular liquor but this drink has a strong taste of coffee in it!

Very nice drink, and the coffee flavour is strong enough to knock you over on its own.

i tried it with sprite as recommended by ken (the bartender) but i din quite like it. the next week i tried it with milk and it was nice.

To those who have no clue what it tastes like, you could describe tia maria's flavour as bailey's with a double shot of coffee in it.

So the next time you enter a bar... don't be a noob and order a bourbon coke! get yourself a TIA MARIA, on the rocks or with milk.

::I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry review::

Sigh i reali have to up my game.

Today i just watched "I pronounce you chuck and larry" with the VE guys.. Thanks to a ... erm... very persuasive persuation from viknesh. long time since i went out with them! another awesome adam sandler show. i'm a sucker for his shows.. they always make me cry!
aww.

but this time wasn't so mushy, it just had me grinning warmly to myself. This show is basically about chuck(adam sandler) and larry(kevin james) pretending to be gay and getting married in order for larry's kids to benefit from his life insurance. Chuck and larry was bluffing everyone reali well... until along came the sexy Alex(jessica biel) who makes chuck think twice about being "gay".

First of all, the entire movie was quite funny but some of the gay jokes din quite fall on me after being in mdc for so long.

another thing is the show wasn't draggy at any point, i enjoyed myself from start to finish. in fact time was flying by.

however it wasn't hilarious jokes at every corner but still, the director managed to keep the pace of the movie so it was alright.

and if you're expecting to be swooned over like sandler's previous movies you might be a little disappointed. but overall i have to say this is the most balanced of his shows w.r.t. humour, love and storyline.

jessica biel!!! need i say anymore. I just wished her character could have been fleshed out a little more in the plot as she was playing a role which added alot to the tension of the show. I would elaborate more but i shan't spoil the show!

Just as a side note... does any of you find "larry"(kevin james) familiar? look closely!

i don't know about you, but reali think he looks like mr incredible! see..

haha alright then. go watch the movie if you're above 18. its reali funny and sweet. worth my 8 bucks!

::Wala Wala Review:: by Beatboxer Stitch

Last night i went to wala wala... to watch the Unexpected play live for the first time!(duh first time for me.. not for them of course)
The last time i went there i was performing, but this time its refreshing to see things from an audience's point of view and pick up a few performing tips too.

Went there with sherry dear. (you can take a train to buona vista then take a 95 there which is only 3 or 4 stops away, only thing is the bus takes very long to come)

I kinda noobed up at before going upstairs cos it took me awhile to digest what the bouncer meant by "one drink per entry." what a nerd! remember,noobing up around your gf or date means minus points for you, so to all of you noobs out there i'll save you the trouble by telling you now..

1) at wala wala, don't panic when you don't see the band, the band is UPSTAIRS you goofbags.
2) go to the small stairwell guarded by 2 bouncers on the first lvl, and go to the mini counter on the RIGHT.
3)queue up and order a drink from the menu, and don't take too long cos the queue behind is waiting to order too.
4) get a blue slip of paper from them, show it to the bouncers, THEN head upstairs.
5)find a seat yourself, and a waiter will come to you and take the blue slip to prepare a drink for you

easy! good. please don't noob up like me.
btw i ordered a grand marnier with orange juice for sherry and a ludwig something for myself. some form of beer that's like hoe garden. can anyone fill me in? both are good, esp the grand marnier.

and we decided to try their legendary pizza. all you regular club goers will know that wala wala is famous for its chicken wings and its pizza, but i totally forgot that sherry dear doesn't eat cheese nor chicken wings. i reali screwed up on this one, so sorry for bringing you to the wrong place k? reali appreciate that you still went to eat the pizza tho it was flooded with cheese -hugx

we ordered hawaiann pizza and all i can say is wow. instead of using lame ham slices, the pizza was topped with real, crunchy bacon . it was so good! 18 bucks but well spent on the pizza. with a nice thin crust too. would definetlly recommend it. or for all you vegetarians or mushroom lovers out there, you can try the mushroom with garlic too. tried it with my fellow performer serene last time but the taste gets a bit monotonous and filling after awhile. so... TRY HAWAIIAN!(can't spell.)

finally the moment of truth came when the unexpected came on stage! it was a live band with...
1) one drummer (mr stylo mylo lady killer who always chew gum)
2) one damn pro guitarist with lightening fingers(the one with the moustache),
3) one bassist who reminds me of botak jones,
4) and of course the lead singer, shirlyn!

the chemistry between the band was excellent, and the sound and singing was great too. she has a terrific voice which sounds a bit like avril lavigne, but much much better. totally loved the performance and they were totally swarmed with dedications. 2 thumbs up for them! but shirlyn why you never play our dedication??? T_T

time to brush up my acid bar gig (to those who don't know, its 730 to 930 on saturdays at acid bar beside Ice Cold Beer, so come and watch lah!!).

in the end sherry was reali tired from a full day of chionging out her project, so we decided to take a cab back home.

reali great performance, great food, and i'll definetly come back again. 4/5 stars!~
